Anybody elses little girl obsessed with shoes? - July 31st 2009
Everyday Seren brings me a pair of baby shoes to put on even if they are not her's, today she is currently wearing Ieuans crocs! She also insists on putting her feet in mine and her daddys shoes (Daddys work boots are a little high to get her leg in but she does her best!!!)Yet if I put shoes on he to go out pretty much the moment she is sat down she will take them off but at home if I try to take shoes off her feet she has a hissy fit!?!?!Shoe obsessed at 17 months, Daddys bank balance may take a battering in a few years!!!
Think I am in for a bad afternoon - July 31st 2009
.....Seren has just handed me a roll of gaffer tape!Do you think this is her way of saying, we are going to do your head in today, you may aswell just gaffer tape us to our cots now?
I think Seren may speak a foreign language! - July 30th 2009
She is currently chattering away very intently with lots of signs (mainly no, all gone and duck!!!) at anyone who will listen!!! she has also taken to getting herself a book, parking herself on my lap and 'reading' the book to me in this language!! I am yet to work out what this language is though, if Ieuan knows he isnt telling!!! it is very cute though!
I have just put them down for a nap and she didnt want to take her coat off (we just 'popped' out) so she had a massive hissy fit and shouted at me in her 'language' so I think I know 'baby' for "I hate you mammy I want to wear my spotty dotty mac to bed!"

Stinky daughter, another use for gaffer tape! - July 29th 2009
To keep Serens blinkin nappy on!!! went in this morning to find she had taken her nappy off to have a poo and a wee in her cot! she found it hilarious, me not so much!!If she teaches Ieuan how to do it she can sleep in the cupboard under the stairs!
OMG Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek a lot of gaffer tape needed, I have two houdinis!!!!! - July 26th 2009
Both Seren and Ieuan have learnt how to escape!!!!!!Today they learnt how to escape their cots!! Hubby woke me to ask me if I had got Ieuan out of his cot this morning and left him to play in their bedroom, no I hadnt, Ieuan had escaped, Seren followed suit not long after!!!!! Luckily I have been insistent on keeping the gate on their door locked for a long time but am now slightly concerned that they will master how to climb that (i.e climb on a toy to get over) as their room is right at the top of a very steep flight of stairs. My house downstairs is open plan with a baby dan play pen opened out as one long room divider to keep the babies in their end and away from harm, we now have to rearrange their end of the house as they have discovered if they climb on the sofa they can climb the 'prison wall' and get into our end, hubby looked round from doing the dishes to find Seren sat on our sofa with the TV remote in hand giggling!!!Thats it now isnt it really?!?!? my life really will never be the same again, so please send any spare gaffer tape to:Harrassed mum of Ronnie and ReggieLiverpoolIm sure the postman will know its me!!!!
Can I have my tiny babies back please - July 22nd 2009
You know, the ones who stayed where I left them etc, mine still havent gone down for a nap yet and are currently climbing all over the sofa in their part of the living room, I have just had to seperate a fight on the sofa over a ball and put them on the floor again but they are back up and wrecking everything, Alf is doing his best to sleep through it, Im still waiting to jump in the shower and get dressed!!!!! come on nap time.......
STOP FIGHTING!!!! July 20th 2009
Ieuan and Seren have not stopped fighting yet today! we have had head smacking, pinching, pushing, poking all coupled with lots of screaming. Think its time to go out and hope that they will be distracted by other stuff to not fight in the buggy
The STUPIDEST comment I have ever heard - July 20th 2009
Went out tody with the twins, was one of those days where everybody was stopping me to ask questions about them, means everything takes longer and you repeat yourself 4000 times but really I secretly enjoy it as I get to show my babies off, annnnnnnnyway, this family walked past me and one woman said to another woman 'oh look twins!' and the other woman said 'they cant be twins its a boy and a girl' I really didnt have any energy left to tell her what a muppet she was so I just walked off!
You know you have a toddler when - July 19th 2009
you have a repertoire of songs especially for car journeys
A sheep is now a baa lamb, a dog is a doggy, cat is a pussy cat etc...
you no longer finish a sentence when talking to someone at a baby group
you spend your life saying 'no dont touch
'Your car cd player now contains '100 best nursery rhymes' and not your beloved stereophonics cd
the back seat of your car looks like a combination of an explosion between a biscuit factory and a toy factory
you refer to yourself in the third person constantly 'mummy likes toast mmmmmmm' etc!
you refer to hubby as 'daddy' and it is no way kinky!

ha ha ha - July 19th 2009
Hubby has his riot training for work over the next 2 weeks and is just trying on his kit, Alf has just gone ape at hubby in his massive helmet, proper growling etc, then hubby pretended to go for me, lets say he took his helmet off sharpish due to Alfs reaction!!!
Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhh what questions annoy you? - July 9th 2009
Oh god dont get me started..........
Are they natural? No I made them out of plastecine, life like though arent they!!
Did you have them naturally? Does it matter!!
Did you have them early? Yes
Were they tiny? not really!
Did you breastfeed? Is it any of your business?!?!
Was it a suprise? what the hell do you think?
Are they twins? ??????????????????????
Whats the difference in age? 3 mins!
Are they both boys? No she is wearing a dress!!
Are they both girls? No he is head to foot in blue!
Are they identical? No he has a penis she has a vagina
One of each aren't you clever? erm I dint really get to specify a choice tbh!
Do they sleep through? Yes but more out of luck than guidance
Oh an instant family, no need for anymore!!! I want more and if I say so they tell me I am silly and should be happy with what I have!
Which one is the naughty one? it depends on the day of the week
Who is your favourite? ????????????????????????
Oh I could go on and on and on and on

And they called it buggy love..........July 9th 2009
...........but I guess they'll never knowThis evening I have (finally after 10 months of continuous use) washed my buggy covers, so they are now lovely and clean and sweet smelling ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Im guessing by this time tomorrow one of my little angels will have rubbed some banana in one side and the other will have crushed a few biscuits in their side!!!I am debating whether to put my lambswool covers back on the bottom or not now?!?! I havent washed them as they are handwash only and would probably take about 4 years to dry, so they have had a good bashing to clean them hee hee*sigh* I lurve my buggy.......(Can you tell that my two weeks of cheap single buggies with plastic wheels did my head in!!)
People ignoring my handsome man - July 7th 2009
This is something that really grates me and has done since the babies were born, practically EVERYONE ignores Ieuan and makes a fuss of Seren, including some of our family. We were in Asda today and one of the people who work there was making a massive fuss of Seren and asking me how old she was, did she walk etc and I replied with the answers, THEY are 16 months, THEY are BOTH walking etc but she glanced and Ieuan and really didnt acknowldge him. Loads of people make such a fuss of Seren (which is understandable she is gorgeous ) but ignore my gorgeous boy. Hubby has noticed it too and we do wonder sometimes if we make more of a fuss of Ieuan to compensate. It sounds silly but it really hurts my feelings.I have met a few lovely ladies off MTW here and none of them do it (In fact Ieuan and Karan had a VERY big hug when we last met her!!!) but even family members favour Seren and I find myself saying things like "Get yourself in there for a Hug Ieuan" or with the younger members I always say dont forget about Ieuan.
PTMM - I invented my own acronym - July 7th 2009
Hee hee I hope you dont mind but I have invented my own new acronym = PTMM - Proud Twin Mummy MomentYesterday we went to Musical Minis and hubby came too as he was off, when we left we all walked back to the car together, at one moment I had Seren holding my hand on my left and Ieuan holding my hand on my right, both walking with Mummy, my heart nearly burst!!!!
Hair pulling babies!!! - July 3rd 2009
Ieuan has recently taken to pulling Serens hair, as most of you know Seren doesnt really have a lot anyway and Ieuan pulling out handfuls (yes really!!!) isnt helping much. We went ot for a walk today and Seren fell asleep and Ieuan pulled her hair, she screamed her head off (understandably so, she doesnt like being woken at the best of times!) the whole park were looking at which point Ieuan pulled an stonishing innocent act and munched on his rice cake whist smiling!!!so beware babies at the mega meet Ieuan is sweeny todd!! oh AND he bit me today it brought tears to my eyes, my chunky monkey is a bully!!*disclaimer* I dont actually think he will pull any other babies hair and please note he is told off for his hair pulling and biting
Its funny if you tell Seren to give Ieuan a cwtch she goes straight over to do so, yet usually Ieuan sticks his hand out and pushes her away (usually his hnd pushes her in the fce and she ends up on her bum!) he loves cuddles with me just not her it would seem. sibling love hey!

My two chunky monleys - July 3rd 2009
We took the twins to be weighed the day after we got back off holiday, and it would seem it was not only me who gained a few pounds!!!!Seren is now 21lb 9oz, still on the 25th centile but she has gaine 1lb 7ozs in 3 monthsIeuan is now 25lb 5oz, so is now between the 50th and 75th centile!!!! and has gained 1lb 13ozs in 3 months!!It would seem that all their holiday treats (ice cream, biscuits galore, grown up yoghurts and chips - which they were not keen on!!!!) helped bulk them up Oh and Ieuan has just handed me a workout DVD, hmmmm think he is trying to tell me something!!
Hidden holiday costs (kind of) and I blame hubby! - June 30th 2009
So we lost Serens comforter and as it turns out Ieuans 'thts not my puppy' book both times hubby was pushing said baby, and he pays no bloody attention to what they re doing, tbh he could lose a baby and probably wouldnt bloody notice grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrralso we have a £50 vets bill to pay as the kennels hd to take him as he had licked himself raw while we were away due to stress (on his balls of all bloody places, we have never left him in kennels for more than 4 days before bless him!) so he was on antibiotics and we (I say we I totally mean hubby) have to rub cream on his knackers twice a day until the scab goes YUCK YUCK YUCK! I hve always said we should get them chopped off!I am not as mean as I sound honest!!
A 7 hour delay, a lost comforter, a tea towel and a tan.....the story of my holiday ;-) - June 29th 2009
Cooooooooooooooooooooowwweeeeeeeeeeeeeee Im home!!! We had a great if not slightly stressful holiday which started with a 7 hour delay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! during this delay at Manchester airport Seren lost her comforter, I have to admit, I cried! anyway I am going to have to phone the airport this week in the vain hope someone handed it in to lost property. We actually bought her a tea towel in Corfu to fool her with the fleecy feel and thankgod it worked. George had a very close eye kept on him (George is Ieuans monkey/comforter)Anyway very briefly, Ieuan is now a flully fledged toddler, his walking now is amazing!! he loved the pool and would get it and out himself, Seren ever the drama queen screamed everytime she went it if I was around!! if I wasnt there by all accounts she loved it!!I have a tan!!!! I have NEVER had a tan before!! the babies are lovely and brown despite being smeared head to toe in factor 50 over 10 times a day
Sibling love - June 12th 2009
Seren likes to give cwtches out fairly freely now, today she was sat next to Ieuan and gave him a cwtch, being a boy he shrugged her off and 'shouted' at her, she left him alone for a few mins and he turned his back to her, she then started stroking his back and hair and saying 'awwww' it is safe to say she melted my heart. Normality resumed 10 mins later when they started wrestling!!!
It was very cute but the wrestling decended into a fight which meant crying and then fighting over who got to sit on my lap (Seren refused to let Ieuan anywhere near me and kicked and screamed and pushed at Ieuan to make him move - I felt so bad for him!!)

Yuk - Poo related sorry!!! - June 9th 2009
My ever so delightful daughter managed to losen her nappy over night no probs she had only had a wee in it nothing in her cot so I changed her put her pjs back on gave her a bottle and left them to it for half hour while I chatted to hubby, went up to bring them down for breakfast and hubby is changing a stinking Ieuan so I went over to Seren who had taken her pj bottoms off again and her nappy, at first I thought she had just had a wee, so picked her up and gave her to hubby to clean up while I stripped her cot, as I handed her over I noticed poo on her foot and some on he sheet. As I took her toys out a giant poo appeared!!!!!!!!!!! The dirty ming had hid her poo amongst her toys!!!!!!!!!!I am dreading potty training for this very reason, I can deal with nappies fine but rndom poos hidden are whole different matter. My daughter is grim, hubby and I have very cruelly named her 'the sh***y one' this morning
she is just disgusting!!!! they are napping now but she was sat in her highchair this morning trumping and giggling about it!!! I think she thinks she is a boy!!!

toooo cute - June 9th 2009
If you ask Seren to hug Ieuan she toddles over and gives him massive hug and usually ends it with a kiss!!! Ieuan will also hug his sister but isnt such a fan of giving kisses. They both love the dog SO much at the moment too. Alfie was lead in amongst them yesterday and Ieuan crawled over and rested his head on him whilst watching CBeebies
Cabin fever - June 5th 2009
We have avoided all groups this week and will be doing so next week too just incase they catch the dreaded pox!!!! I think ( ) we may have escaped it from my neice as I am scared they will get it and we will have to cancel our holiday, so we missed musical minis, 2 twin clubs, sing and sign, stay and play and my word am I bored!!!! we have been for a few big walks but they dont really like being in the buggy much at the moment so it doesnt really seem fair on them, going to the park is just too much of a nightmare on my own so we have stayed at home playing lots. They hve however both discovered the joys of climbing this week, we have had a couple of tumbles (quite a spectacular one from Ieuan tonight which invloved him face planting the floor then the rest of his body coming over - thankfully he was fine but vloody hell my nerves are shot!!!)Thnkfully hubby is off this weekend nd is on nights next week so I will have some help during the day. All those people who once told me that it gets easier as they get older are liars!! my hair has only just started growing back, think it will start falling out again soon at this rate!!
Took her nappy off - June 4th 2009
Thats what Seren did this morning during her nap, went in and went to pick her up noticed a smell and went to look down the back of her nappy (she was stood up) and there was no nappy there, she had taken it off after having a poo in it, she managed to get poo in her bed though and have a wee!!!!she looked very pleased with herself though, all I can say is thank god it was a) a solid poo (sorry!!) and b) there was a matress protecter under her sheet!!!
A picnic in the park - June 1st 2009
Hubby is off today and tomorrow, and as it was such a lovely dy we decided to go to the park and have a picnic, the twins were really well behaved and Daddy got to witness their new game of baby wrestling which is hilarious. We also met a labrador called Rosie who the twins proceeded to crawl after and then they went and plonked themselves with Rosies owners and have a 'chat' with them!!
Guess what I found in my bra earlier - June 1st 2009
A big piece of bread!!!! (quite how it took me 3 hours to notice is beyond me!!)During our picnic this afternoon Ieuan and Seren clambered all over me as usual but as I was wearing a strappy top I somehow managed to bring home a bit of our picnic it does however explain Ieuan doing his best to go for a root though! The joys of being a mummy hey!?!?!
Eeeek!! please dont let them get chicken pox!! - June 1st 2009
Hubby came in from work last night with the wonderful news that my niece has chicken pox, we saw her last Tuesday which means that mine could get it any time up until the day after we fly to Corfu!!!!!!Apparently she has a very mild case and when we saw them the babies didnt interact too much as they were in their buggies a lot and they just seemed to play seperatley.I am now SOOOOO worried that they are going to get it and we wont be able to fly, the latest they can come out in spots is the 9th for the incubation period to fly to be over but what if one gets it soon and then the other doesnt get it until a few days before!?!?!?!?I have decided we are not going to go to any baby groups until our hols, it is going to drive me insane but I really dont want them to catch it and us not be able to go away (gosh I am VERY selfish arent I!)
Arrrgghhhh jigsaws - May 31st 2009
every night this week (and every night of every week for the past 3 months) I have had to spend at least 20 mins searching for pieces and putting jigsaws back together!!!!! they have 4 of those wooden Asda ones downstairs and 2 in their bedroom (which rather naughtily I just chuck in the toy bin unmade hee hee) but after I have put all thier toys away downstairs I always end up on my hands and knees looking for a missing monkey or zebra (the giraffe was savaged by Alfie, it was an unfortunate incident we are trying to put behind us now!)
I wouldnt mind if they played withthe jigsaws or even made an effort to try them but Ieuan drags them off the shelf, empties them on the floor then crawls away smiling, Seren then spends 20 mins passing me bits and saying 'ta' and then they just get scattered everywhere, I am SO tempted to just hide them somewhere - is that mean?!!?!

A bit of a PMM - May 30th 2009
We are sat having a bit of a chill out and the twins are watching their sing & sign DVD and I am amazed at how many signs they actually know. They know, more, all gone, eat, pig, up, open, shut, duck to name just a few, am very proud of my babies!!!!They are also dancing along to all the songs and keep looking at me as if to say 'come on Mummy join in' as I always dance at them when a song comes on!!
Think I lost my sense of humour today..... May 30th 2009
... the twins have been a nightmare all day today, I know its because they are hot and sticky etc etc but so am I and hubby is on such stoopid bloody shifts so is in bed for most of the day so I have to deal with the whinging, whining, fighting, scratching, not sharing etc on my own again. Hubby finally got up and we went shopping (my life is just TOO exciting!) and Seren had a meltdown in Asda as she was soooo tired and would not give in (Ieuan was fast asleep beside her!) and I swear if one more pesron stared at me and passed comment to the person next to them I think I would have taken Seren out of the buggy passed her to them and told them that if they thought they could shut her up then to go for it!!!There have been a few funny moments, major giggles today from them both, they find each other hilarious and earlier Ieuan went in for a rugby tackle on Seren and instead of doing her normal hissy fit reaction she started play fighting back, they were both in fits giggling.THANK GOD they are in bed now though, I can hear them singing and giggling but I dont care as long as its not screaming now!!!!Hope everyone elses babies were good today, if not you have my complete and utter sympathy!
A rant about Health visitors - May 22nd 2009
Right I dont want to upset anyone with this post but here we go! It is of no suprise to me why there are so many horrible cases of children being harmed/mistreated/poorly fed etc! When the twins were born we lived in Manchester and had lovely mw and hv (rubbish with breastfeeding advice but lovely all the same) in fact my hv came to see me until the twins were about 5 months old simply because we lived up 3 flights of stairs and was a major effort to get out and about. When we moved to Liverpool the twins were 6 months old and it took me 2.5 months to get a hv here! I had to chase and chase people before I eventually got one.Is it any wonder people slip through the net and so many babies/children come to such horrid fates! I wont lie it has been very hard at times and it can be very lonley being a mum as many of you know yourselves BUT the difference is, is that I have a supportive hubby and a mum who might live 300 miles away but knows how I am by the tone of my voice, so if things had gone drastically downhill for me people would have noticed but I shudder to think of all the mums and tots out there who have fallen by the wayside. This rant has come about as I wanted to get the twins weighed, Seren has lost weight as she is more active, Im not overly worried as I know this is a normal thing but a pair of trousers that fitted her 3 weeks ago are now hanging off her. So I phoned my hv office and got told the next appointment I could have was 3 weeks away and anway 'what was the problem', so I said no problem, I just want to get them weighed as they have lost weight and I want to keep my eye on it, so she told me to wait and put me on hold then cam back and said yeah 3 weeks till we can fit you in, explained I was away and so she gave me an appointment for 30th June!!!!!!!!!!!In Manchester they had a drop in weigh in clinic, here I have to make an appointment so far in advance its crazy, am very unimpressed with it all, and if Seren has lost a ton of weight and they query it well look out HV you will get the full force of my wrath!!
We all have our passports now wooohoooo - May 22nd 2009
Well Ieuans passport just arrived, so we are all now allowed to leave the country (it would have been sad the three of us waving goodbye to Ieuan but 2 weeks in the sun is just too good to pass up!! )They are tooo cute for words, I will have to try and get copies of the pics on here at some point (need to get a usb cable for my phone still grrr)so in about 23 days we will be leeeeeeeeeeaving on a jet plane.......................
Its official! I no longer have two babies I have two toddlers eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! - May 22nd 2009
Ieuan took loads of steps at sing and sign this morning, so so so so so so pleased!!!! I just looked around and he was toddling towards me with a lok of sheer concentration on his little face.So I guess the fun starts here, 2 toddlers eeeeeekkk BUT woooooooooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr a mum and washing rant - May 21st 2009
Sorry to post such a stoopid topic but am well cheesed off!!!I have just taken my washing out of the tumble dryer and a top that Seren has worn once now looks awful!! It is a red top with white sleeves, so I put it in a coloured wash with a colour catcher, but the white sleeves and inside of the hood are now grey, it looks horrible, so many of their clothes end up like this and it annoys me. FGS what colour wash are you supposed to put that kind of top in????? it cant go in a white wash as it has red on it but apparently it cant go in a coloured wash as it will dye the arms and look grubby.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Today the twins..... - May 19th 2009
........screamed and cried and yelled and shouted and pooed for Wales!!!They both have hideous diorrhea (sp?) but no other signs of illness other than the need to scream constantly!!! I feel like my ears are bleeding!! cuddles do the job in quieting them for a few mins until one of them decides the other isnt allowed cuddles at the same time as them and so the screaming would start again, followed with abit of hitting and kicking, they have been in bed 90 mins and so far so good, all I can say is thankgoodness hubby is off tomorrow.Oh and how come when he is supposed to finish work at 3 he rocks up home at 5pm!!!! nd then as soon as he walks in the door the start smiling and laughing and chatting, whilst I am sat still in my pj's rocking in the corner!!
PMM 1 Step.........May 18th 2009
....is what Ieuan took at Musical Minis today!!!!!!!!!!!! Woooohoooo, he crawled over to stand by a gate to the baby area, turned round and let go, nothing unusual there but then decided to take a step, he only managed the one and was down on his knees again but I was SO proud!!!! but had no one to share it with!!!!!He can now stand in the middle of a room on his own (if you help him to stand) and walks with his walker or pushing something round I dont think he will be too much longer.Seren now walks loads!! she still prefers crawling as it is quicker but will happily walk across a room etc.My life is now changing vastly, sitting and relaxing is now a thing of the past (they are napping at the moment) 6:30 cant come quick enough some days (although I LOVE how much fun they are now too)
ROFL - May 14th 2009
We are watching Something Special on CBeebies and Seren has just pointed to Justin and said 'Dada'!!!!!!I know I heart Mr Tuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmbbbbbbbbbblllllllllleeeeeeee but he is DEFINATLEY not their Daddy!!!
One stops the other starts - May 13th 2009
Have been uber careful today with what I have fed the twins in order that we could let Ieuans tummy settle and it seems to have worked and we have made it throught the day without him being sick, about an hour ago Seren started screaming upstairs so hubby went up to see her only to find she has now thrown up everywhere!!!!!She has now been cleaned up, clean pjs, clean bed given a bottle of dioralyte and put back to bed, but the worst bit??? she has been sick all over her comforter so it will have to go through the wash and then dry naturally so she cant have it back tonight, she is NOT happy!!!! and can we find Ieuans carbon copy comforter can we heck, think it may be a loooooong night!
Yuk Yuk Yuk! - May 13th 2009
Why do babies only ever throw up on their mums? Ieuan was once again incredibly sick all over me last night!! we had just got him ready for bed, he was all clean in nice fresh pjs, I was actually dressed (havent got dressed for 2 days as have been poorly too) and he crawled over to me to give me a cwtch and instead opened his mouth and everything came out all over me!!!! what can you do though, they are so scared and upset when it happens that you just have to hold nd cuddle them until it stops, hubby just stood there with Seren both of them with a look of horror on their faces!!!!So far so good today, he has kept milk and toast down and they have both just gone down for a nap, he has a bottle of dioralyte with him (yucky blackcurrant flavour, and I am sorry to sound mean but £4 for 6 sachets!!!!!!)So he has been sick all over me twice this week alone, it must be Daddys turn!Oh and you know how you can tell I have been ill? I went to Asda in my trackies last night!!! I never normally leave my house in my trackies ha ha, I feel tons better today though but am still not dressed as we have spent the morning sat on the floor playing games, hubby must dread coming home to me lol!!
Booooo but Woooohoooooo - May 11th 2009
well since 6pm Ieuan has been horriffically sick twice, it just kept coming the poor thing, he looked so scared whilst it was happening but then seemed to instantly recover both times, am hoping we havent passed this evil bug onto him!! But on the woooohooo front, isnt it amazing how babies are such sponges at this age?!?!!?Tonight we have taught Ieuan the sign for 'pig' and retaught him 'more' (he gave this up months ago) and have practised the sign for 'duck' and also what noise a cow makes, bless his gorgeous cotton socks all this inbetween the nasty sick episodes. We also asked Seren for a kiss before bed and she gave me a proper kiss (well 10 in the end) she then gave lots to her Daddy and then gave Ieuan a kiss too (he was less than impressed and dodged the first two!!!)Any PMM over, thanks for listening to a wittering mummy xxx
Seren can now walk across a room - May 4th 2009
How exciting is that!!! not so much for you guys but for me it is Am so glad we gave up our living room for the twins to have so much freedom, she is gaining in confidence on a daily basis. We are working on Ieuan but so far he is reluctant to let go but is much more confident standing on his own. I am a very poud mummy!!!
Awwwwwwww - May 3rd 2009
The twins are playing in their room hubby who is supposed to be in charge is sat at the bottom of the stairs watching tv (grr) anyway I just commented on how quiet it was up there as this usually spells trouble, so we snuck up and they are both sat on the floor 'reading' books!!!I wonder how long it will last....
All change - the babies are taking over!!! - May 1st 2009
well after unsuccesfully looking for a different house to rent the other night I ranted at hubby and we have moved our downstairs around (AGAIN!!) the babies now have the living room bit of our house all to themselves, we have the smaller dining room bit (its all open plan, our bit is sectioned off with an opened up baby dan play pen). You know what? its fab!!!! they have tons of room to play and nothing to hurt themselves on as the fireguard is up and everything else in there is their bits and bobs and the sofa. So today they have played and played and played and worn themselves out completley, Seren has taken LOADS of steps ( ) and Ieuan is getting his confidence and will stand alone loads now. Was so lovely to see them have soo much freedom and play so well together, Alf isnt a big fan as he was chased around by them most of the afternoon whilst they giggled their heads off, ahhhh been a lovely day xxx
3am Baby Raving - April 29th 2009
Well for the third night in a row the twins have deemed that 3am-ish is the ideal time for a baby rave. We have dancing and singing, Seren waves the blackout blind around and Ieuan flaps the giant leaf above his cot around, all to the heady mix of night time nursery rhymes. No idea what is going on, very funny to watch if not a little tireing, anyway send any of your raving babies round, the more the merrier I guess
Alfie the dog weighs - April 28th 2009
5st 7lbs!!!Ha ha he really is Jabba the Mutt. Can you tell we bought new scales today!!
Ieuans new diet - April 22nd 2009
So far this week Ieuan has eaten plastacine, wood chips, gravel and grass, he has also lunged head first mouth open onto dirt to give it a good lick!!! He wasnt overly keen on any of it but I am glad to see he is open to new tastes and textures. Obviously though this has been to the detriment of his normal diet and thus homemade pizza, toast and jam, cheese sandwiches, cucumber, carrot and strawberries are some of the more day to day food which have been relegated in favour of this new diet, Alfie the dog though is the proud poochy owner of a full tummy come baby tea time at our house!!
So I wen to Clarks and got their feet measured..........April 13th 2009
...and Ieuan is a 3g and Seren is a dinky 2h!!! so they dont do any sandles that will fit her hee hee, oh well suppose baby sandles are cheaper than Clarks ones!
Ratbags! - April 13th 2009
Seren has just woken screaming the house down, went up to her and she wouldnt be placated, in fact she had a full on paddy! Brought her downstairs so she wouldnt wake Ieuan and after a big trump (such a little lady) she was feeling better so I grabbed some milk from the fridge and took it up with me. I had to put her on the floor whilst I sorted her cot out (the paddy involved throwing things!) and turned round to see her patting her brother on the bum through the bars of his cot and babbling away to him, Im not sure what she said but he woke up and grinned at her, so after a tussle through the bars over Serens comforter I have given them both some milk and left them to it - so far so quiet!Really amused at the whole patting on the bum and obviously telling him to 'wake up, mummys got milk'I hope everyone elses babies are asleep and give you all a good rest tonight xxx
My dog is such a numpty - April 14th 2009
he just fell down the back of the sofa!!! its up against our window and he slipped down and I was holding Seren so couldnt do anything but laugh and call him names, he is now sulking!
he is in such a sulk now, proper huffing and puffing beside me ha ha.
I named him Alfie so that when he did pull these faces I could sing 'whats it all about Alfie' to him in my best Cilla Black voice

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - April 11th 2009
SEREN WALKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Im a little bit excited!!!She finally was very very brave and took a few steps, in total she took probably 15 steps today in little bursts of 2/3 steps, my little baby is gonna be a big girl!!!!!!!!Ieuan watched on whilst sat on his bum, but my gorgeous little guy joind in the clapping with the rest of us and even had the good grace to put on his uber excited face!!!!OK PMM over
MMR's a weight gain and a weight loss - March 31st 2009
Took my little monsters for their MMR jabs today and it all seemed to go well, they both screamed when they had their jabs but mummy was prepared and had an Organix fruit bar with me which once they had shared were happy and giggling again. I was told symptoms can take 7-10 days to appear so am keeping my fingers crossed that they will be fine!!Had them weighed while we were there and Ieuan is now a whopping 23lb 2oz putting on an amazing 1lb 9oz in just under a month!!!!!!! Stinky Seren though now weighs 20lb 2oz so she has lost 2oz. Im not worried about this as I know she eats well and is getting more active but this is the biggest difference there has ever been between them, you can certainly feel it when you pick them up to!!! So I have one chunky monkey and one little doll!
Phew that was close - March 29th 2009
Went into the babies room the other morning and Seren was stood up in her cot waving something at me, I thought it was her blankie as she gives it me to cuddle all the time (it was dark as the blackout blind was still down) so I went over to take it and discovered it was a nappy and I froze!! their room stunk and I was praying it wasnt a pooy nappy and even turned the light on with my eyes closed so I could prepare myself but was so glad that she had only done a wee over night and it was Ieuan who reeked!!!I remember Vicki saying that Niamh had taken a pooy nappy off and I just had visions of there being poo everywhere, eek!She was very very pleased with herself though, there were big grins and lots of dancing and excited shreiking!!! found it hard to do anything but laugh, though f it had of been poopy I doubt I would have laughed!
Teeth teeth and more teeth - March 21st 2009
Well we knew that Ieuans top 2 front teeth were poking through (in between his fangs lol) well after 3 nights of Seren waking up screaming hysterically and not being placated I had a good root around her mouth this morning with some teething gel and she has another 3 teeth poking through (just like her mummy, why do someone 1 thing at a time ) she has one at the bottom at the front and one either side at the top (but around at the side IYKWIM) so Seren now has 10 teeth and Ieuan now has 6 teeth. I guess it explains my whingy babies, made hubby get calpol while he was out so am all prepared for another night of screaming now!
All my PMM's in one go - March 20th 2009
Well my little monsters are really beginning to show off their talents latley, seems like there is something new everyday, so here is what has made me proud lately:Both babies wave hiya and goodbye to people, they also have a tendancy to wave to people as we walk down the street, so I get stopped lots as people say hello back and have a chat with them. They both share their food (so not like their Daddy lol) if you say 'mmmm' when they are eating they will immediatley grab their food and hold it out to you and smile, you then have to pretend to eat a bit before they will eat again. They both cwtch things, if you pass them a toy and say 'ahh give it a cwtch' they tuck it up next to them and give it a big cwtch and say 'ahh'.We are still not walking but we are getting brave and can now stand without holding onto anything, Mummy tried to convince Seren today and she nearly went for it but then Ieuan came crawling at her and knocked her over like a human skittle. They hold hands when they are in their highchairs, they sometimes pull each other closer to do it!They dance to every single bit of music that comes on, Ieuan bobs up and down and so does Seren but she also does a fabulous head nodding thing, Daddy says she is moshing or head banging lol!Seren shakes her head 'yes' and 'no', if I sing 'YES my name is Iggle piggle/Upsy Daisy' she shakes her head furiously no at me as if to say no your not MummyI have discovered that singing the goodnight song from the bedtime hour calms them down brilliantly (even if its not bed time!!!)Think thats it ha ha, am sure I will add to this later when I remember more
All this whinging is driving me insane - March 19th 2009
These babies have not stopped whinging for 2 days!! They were as good as gold this morning at twin club but then as soon as we get in it starts and literally only stops for a few mins and then starts up again, Ieuan is the worst. I just went back to Weight Watchers and couldnt even stay for the meeting as he was screaming his head off and nothing would pacify him, toys, milk, food, dummy or cwtches, so I gave up and had to leave, he is now upstairs crying and I am down here trying to keep calm. Hubby is in work and not home till 1am I seriously hope he drops off soon.Rant over, deep breath taken ..............
Ieuan is a baby Houdini - March 17th 2009
They both went to bed last night in babygros, all fine when I checked on them before I went to bed, got up this morning and went in to say good morning and Ieuan had taken his babygro off but NONE of the buttons were undone he must be a mini houdini, he was so proud of himself stood there in the nuddy apart from his nappy, he was waving his babygro round at me with a big grin on his face, Seren was stood in her cot giggling her head off at him!
A trip to the park, a swim in the lake for the dog = a quiet house (apart from the snoring!) - March 15th 2009
Hubby finally got up at 2:30 today (he is on nights) and after setting up the twins Vtech smile baby we decided to go to feed the ducks. We strolled down to Sefton Park to feed the ducks taking Alfie with us. Well I think the world and his wife had fed the ducks today so they were not interested in our bread, Alfie however decided he was very much interested and dived into the lake to get some nearly dragging hubby in with him. Anyway 5 mins later Alfie is finally dragged away drenched and covered in mud. A bit further along he decided it was time for another dip in a much smaller lake, he tried to swim to the other side but was on his lead so had to come back, on route though he decided that the crisp packet did not belong in he lake and brought it back wih him, got out deposited it on the bank and jumped back in for more. He had everyone in the park in fits of laughter, he is now shattered and fast asleep next to me snoring. So we went to feed the ducks and the dog and twins had more bread than them (I hasten to add the bread was fresh!!) and any calories I burnt off on our 3 hour walk I am restoring with my galaxy cookie crumble bar of choccie!
Our Gecko just had an egg - March 11th 2009
Does this make me a grandma????We knew she would be having one as she has been digging, and Lil G has been giving her lots of cuddles etc, she has had lots of eggs but they never hatch (it has something to do with the temperature in the tank and we need to have something in there not sure all a bit technical really) anyway this egg is hoooge, think it might be twins!!!!
Egg juggling dog free to a good home - March 7th 2009
Came home yesterday after being out all day with hubby and babies, looked through the window and told hubby to prepare himself, he said why has he broken something and I replied sort of, walked in to find Alfie had been juggling with 15, (yep 15!) eggs and broken them ALL over the living room and the sofa, he had also been poorly because he had eaten raw egg, so we then had to spend the next hour cleaning egg up. Suffice to say Alfie is in the bad books and is putting on his best sad dog eyes to try and get forgiveness!
Hubby got punched in work last night - March 4th 2009
As many of you will know my hubby is a policeman, he was on a 2-midnight yesterday but didnt get in until 1:30am, was not overly worried as he sometimes has to stay to finish statements etc, well it turns out he was late as some fella punched him in the face (and bosy and a few more times too) Turns out hubby and another officer went to a domestic (woman and hubby split up, she went to pick up her son and collect stuff from house hubby having none of it) whilst other copper spoke to wife (who had a 5yr old and a 15yr old with her) hubby asked bloke to go back in house, bloke refused and was getting narky, so hubby put his hand on blokes chest and told him to go in doors at which point this fella punched hubby in the face, apparently quite a brawl ensued, hubby got lots of punces (but was wearing body armour) and this fella ended up getting CS gassed. This bloke is now claiming self defence, hubby has had his glasses broken (apparently he will get £50 for a new pair WTF!!! they are Quicksilver glasses and cost more than 3 times that!!!) and has had to go to work today in old glasses with a nose bit missing. He has scratches on his face, nose and forehead and a fat lip and what looks like the onset of a black eye, he also has cuts and grazes all over his hands from rolling around on the floor fighting with this bloke!!!Amso glad he is ok but this is the first time he has been in any sort of incident like this and was a bit worried as it could have been so much worse, am glad hubby is sensible and always wears his body armour too (amazingly they are tld they dont really have to wear it and many dont!!)Anyway am calmer now and threatened him on his way to work today to be careful and keep out of trouble LOL!!
Our injections went well and the twins got weighed - March 3rd 2009
Well the injections went well, they were the meninjitis (sp) boosters so have been told its unlikely they will have any reaction maybe a temp but just to give Calpol. They both screamed when the needle went in but after not even a minute they were both absolutley fine again. We have our next lot on March 31st and am dreading those as I think these may be the ones that cause babies a lot of upset.Got them weighed today too, Ieuan is now 21lb 9oz and Seren is 20lb 4oz so in a year Ieuan has gained exactly 16lb and Seren has gained 15lb 11oz!!!!So all in all not a bad visit to the baby clinic, hope all the other babies who had their inections today are all happy and not bothered by them!
Our first Birthday and Christening March 1st 2009
Well our day started at 7:20 when Seren decided she was too excited to sleep any longer and was bouncing round the bed with Mummy and Daddy, I made her a bottle at about 8ish which was when Ieuan decided to join in the party. We put them in their 'I AM 1' tops and they brushed their teeth whilst having their pics taken lol!Time then slipped away from us and we rushed to get us all ready (predictablly I was first dressed, make up on etc and then had to get both babies ready whilst hubby faffed!).We got to the church at 10:45 and all our family and friends were outside, I got butterflies in my tummy, said to hubby it wslike when we got married (same church) unfortunatley the service was in the church hall not the church but it was still a beautiful service. Both babies were absolute stars throughout, both were very tired but as good as gold, although Seren was mimicking an old ladies cough for a good half hour - cheeky monkey!!! We went up for the actual baptising and Seren point blank refused to go to the vicar (I knew she would as she had been playing 'shy' all morning) so I held her whilst she was baptised, she was so good, not a noise at all. Ieuans turn and he was happy to go to the vicar but wanted to look in the font and see what was going on rather than actually be baptised so the vicar improvised and wet the back of his head instead. At the end of the sevice we sang the national anthem as it was St Davids day, amusingly I was pretty much the only one who was singing in the front 3 rows as all hubbys family and our friends are English. We had loads of photos taken outside afterwards, again, it felt so much like our wedding day, only with two extra special little guests (oh and my outfit was not so pretty!!!) we then went to the club where we had the rception/1st birthday party, Seren promptly fell straight asleep so we mingled for a bit, started the buffet etc, Seren then woke up and Ieuan fell asleep (typical). Once they were both awake they had lots of sandwiches and crisps (and pink n whites which Ieuan got all over his shirt) they were absolute angels all day, I was so so proud of them. We had a little toast to thank everyone for coming and for being so lovely since they were born etc we then lit the candles, sang happy birthday and blew the candles out. Lots of people had to start leaving as they had 4/5hr journeys to make home so we packed everything up and made our way home, me and hubby then sat in my mum and dads living room unwrapping their presents (Unbelieveable amounts of cards and presents, they were truly truly spoilt, people were so lovely and generous - I have so many thank you cards to write) the babies then had a bit of a play for a bit then the tiredness truly hit them and they were fed and changed and in bed for their normal 6:30 bedtime. It all hit me at about 7pm, I was in floods of tears, my mum got really worried and thought there was something really wrong and was so relieved when I just spluttered through tears 'I dont want my babies to grow up' she gave me a big hug and told me they would always be my babies no matter what and that I was still her baby. At the exact time they were born (Ieuan 7:28 and Seren 7:31) I went and had a few quiet moments with each baby, they were asleep but I just felt I had to tell them how much they meant to me and how they had made my life so amazing gave them a kiss, wiped my eyes, blew my nose and felt fine again. I spent a lot of the evening thinking back to how I had spent the evening the year before. I love my babies more than I ever thought it was possible to love anyone, the past year has gone far too fast but I am so proud at how strong, happy and healthy my little ones are and that me and hubby made it through. So all in all we had a wonderful day, my babies did me proud, we had no tears (well no baby tears anyway), no tantrums and clean clothes at the end of it all (except Ieuans shirt but we will let that pass!) Im sure tis next yeart will be chock full of firsts and I am so looking forward to seeing them all.
A big yuck but then a very proud Mammy - Feb 28th 2009
Went into town with my mum yesterday and Ieuan cried the entire time, slept for all of 10 mins but was just so upset, my mum agreed with me that he was just not himself, so anyway got home put him straight down for a nap and after 3 hours I just had to wake him as was worried he would not sleep at night, went up to get him, took ages to wake him as he was so sleepy, he had been a tiny bit sick so I wiped his mouth and grabbed some clothes to change him, got to the bottom of the stairs and he projectile vomited everywhere, all over me, all over my mums hallway all over the entrance to the living room, all over himself, the poor little guy I could feel his little tummy tensing when he was sick and he looked so scared I almost cried! he was very subdued afterwards and went back to bed after an hour. He woke today not much better, had a bottle then went and had a 3hr nap after which he seemed quite bright (a little bit sensitive but more himself) so to make it up to his mummy for vomiting all over her (coat, scarf, jumper, t-shirt and bra ALL had to be changed) he decided to show his new sign off. My very clever little man can now sign duck (useful I know!!!) and all gone!!! he only signs all gone wen someone leaves the room so did it when my mum left the room, so wo knows how long he has been doing it as I look after them on my own for 90% of the time so would obviously never know.Anyway wooohoooo my little man is sooooo clever (especially as we dont go to classes anymore so this is all learnt from the DVD and Mummy!)
Check out our skills Mammy Feb 17th 2009
Well we went to hubbys auntys yesterday to visit and my SIL was there with my neice who is 5 weeks older than the twins, anyway Isabel (my neice) was showing off her new found skills - she can take 4-5 steps on her own, was so proud of her.....then Seren grabbed hold of the walker and walked up and down the room (with us turning her round when she got to the end) a good 4 or 5 times, Ieuan then followed suit!!!!!! Half an hour later both of my angels decided it was also time to show off how they can stand on their own without holding on to anything!!!!!I know at this age a lot of babies have already mastered these skills but I am SO proud, wish we had a carpeted house so we could keep practising as they just slip and slide round our laminate floored house. Am going to my mums for the week next week in the build up to their birthday/christening and although she has laminate too she has big rugs so we are going to practice loads and see if we can show off our skills at their party!!!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrr Feb 09 2009
Went to what used to be twin club this morning (as they have now decided there are not enough twins so it is musical minis one week and storytime the other week) anyway it was PACKED, so was a bit of a nightmare space and noise wise but the babies enjoyed it even if the teacher had little empathy with children! Whilst all this was going on there was a lady in another room giving mums treatments like massage and reiki provided someone was watching their child (or at least sat and looked on whilst their child screamed blue murder as mummy had disapeared) Once musical minis had finished there was time left to play and one of the mums had left her toddler who was sat in a bumbo, Ieuan tried to pull himself up on the back of the bumbo and ended up pulling her hair, I rescued the girls hair and made sure she was ok, which she absolutley was (the girl had latched herself onto me when we walked in anyway so was glad of some extra attention bless her) ANYWAY this other mum then decided to lan over and check the little girl was ok (again this little girl hadnt even cried, just told me her hair had been pulled but 'I OK'!!) and told the little girl that Ieuan was a naughty boy for pulling her hair WTF! he is 11 months old, hadnt hurt her it really annoyed me and I found myself saying to the little girl 'oh hes only a baby he didnt mean to hurt you'This woman really annoys me, every mum is protective over their baby/child but she is to the extreme, if another baby touches her son she says things like 'dont poke him, dont bite him' etc when the other baby is just being enquisitive. If another baby takes a toy of her baby she says things like dont snatch his toy etc I feel like shaking her and saying they are babies for gods sake!!!Anyway it just annoyed me that she called MY son a naughty boy how dare she, plus all these other mums got nice relaxing treatments whilst we watched their kids whereas I just got super stressed at Mrs over protective mummy 2009!Sorry rant over! x
The checkout boy in Asda made my day - February 7th 2009
Nipped into Asda yesterday to get some bits and left the monsters with hubby anyway got to the till and the lad was being very friendly asked me how I was etc and what I was up to over the weekend, told him I had my 1 year old niece visiting etc and he said oh well at least you can hand her back when she starts to which I agreed but said I still had to contend with my 11 month old twins! The look of shock on his face was priceless, the conversation ended there. Ah how sad that no one flirts with me anymore so the Asda man made my day! Used to run a pub and as we all know if you work behind a bar you will get chatted up on a daily basis I miss my ego boosts now lol!
So cute! January 28th 2009
In the last week my babies have learnt to clap, they clap along to if your happy and you know it when me or their daddy sings it (or when it comes on the sing and sign DVD) they also now clap each other!!! If I say good boy/girl they give each other a clap and a big grin, it is soo cute to watch. What is also too cute for words is when they 'chat' to each other and end up giggling and clapping, my babies have a private joke I dont understand but is obviously hilarious.
Where my blog will start
My blog will start in January 2009, the fun and games that dominated our first year are locked away in my mummified brain for now, suffice to say we had a ball, we went on a little family journey of discovery, we laughed, we cried (a lot!) we learnt new things both good and bad, in short we survived!
How time flies by........
The first year as a double whammy Mammy flew by! Before we knew it we were gearing up towards a very special double (double) celebration, we got the twins christened on their first birthday.
We decided to celebrate their birthdays on March 1st when it wasn’t a leap year, mainly because that would have been the date if it were not a leap year (nothing to do with it being St David’s Day - honest guv!) this date was a Sunday and after a lot of wrangling we managed to agree with the vicar that married us to have the twins christened on this date too.
It meant a lot to me that the twins would be christened in the church where their parents got married. It is also the church my parents got married in and where my brother and I were both christened. As it turned out they were christened in the church hall next door which upset me slightly but who is going to argue with a vicar!!!!
The year seemed very very short! I kept thinking back to the day we had the babies, how I felt on that day, I have said it before it truly was the best day of my life yet somehow in the space of a very short year they had gone from two teeny tiny helpless babies to two big strong healthy one year olds. A year full of firsts, my little guy rolled first and my little guy crawled first, who would have thought it!!! None of us that’s for sure, Ieuan was (and still is for much of the time) Mr Laid Back yet he obviously wanted to do a few things before his bossy little sister. Seren got teeth first and boy did she let us know, luckily the times that they have teethed together have been few and far between but when it does happen not only do we know it but our whole street knows it!!!
We had to move during the babies first year which was stressful but it did mean we had a more ‘normal’ life, we moved into a tiny house and somehow managed to squeeze all our stuff in and we painted the twins room in a jungle theme, really nice and bright, one day I will get to paint a gorgeous pink girly room and a proper boys room but for now our jungle nursery rocks!!!
The New Year started with an out of kilter sleep routine due to lots of late nights and excitement over Christmas and New Year, it took a long long time and a LOT of late nights/early mornings but we finally managed to get back on track, what amazed me was how lucky we were that the twins fell into such an amazing sleep routine of their own accord at 3 months or so and when that routine went wrong how hard it was to cope, I definitely take my hat off to all the mums who have had bad sleepers all along!!!
ANYWAY!!! In January time I joined a forum, full of lovely mummies and gorgeous babies. It’s a great place where I can ask for advice, have a whinge and also have a little brag too, generally when I posted on there about an achievement of the twins, or a funny thing they did, I saved a copy and the time has come now where I am going to put them all into this blog and carry it on, updating as the days and weeks go by and as my babies grow and grow, I now have two marauding toddlers both with very distinct personalities. People with older twins lie by the way! I have found this out to my own cost, it doesn’t get easier, 2 tiny babies screaming was easier that two toddlers screaming and throwing themselves around and going limp when you pick them up…………BUT the good does outweigh the bad BUT twin mums need to be prepared you will sometimes actually agree when someone annoying says ‘oh double trouble’ to you (and you smile and laugh like you have never heard it before) so here we go……..The life and times of a double whammy Mammy……..and her troublesome twosome!!!
